Starting next week, from May 13 to May 15, the annual international action "International Road Safety Day" will be held in North America, coordinated by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA). This action will cover Canada, Mexico and the United States.

For 72 hours, inspectors will check trucks and drivers for compliance with safety requirements at weigh stations, temporary points and mobile patrols. The main focus this year will be on compliance with regulations governing drivers' work and rest hours, including checking the validity of a driver's license, maintaining the necessary documentation, status in the database for monitoring the use of psychoactive substances, as well as the use of seat belts.

Regarding the technical condition of the trucks, close attention will be paid to the condition of the tires, including the depth of the tread pattern, tire pressure, damage, and the quality of repairs. Vehicles identified with serious malfunctions will be temporarily suspended from operation until the identified defects are eliminated. Drivers can also be suspended from work for certain violations.

According to the data of the previous year, more than 95% of drivers and 77% of vehicles successfully passed inspections without revealing serious violations.
