Changing the rules for truck drivers; survey on regulations.gov

Truck drivers pointed out excessive regulations in the USA
Truck drivers have actively responded to the Trump administration's call to name rules that should be changed or abolished. In a couple of days after the start of the feedback collection, more than 100 truckers expressed their opinion about federal regulations, which they consider excessively burdensome.
Many people point out that strict restrictions, such as the 70-hour rule, do not take into account the individual needs of drivers and interfere with rest. For example, driver Stacy Dane wrote that with 11 hours of driving and a 30-minute break in the first 8 hours, the 70-hour limit is excessive if the rest of the rules are followed.
The comments emphasize that tight time limits force drivers to work in unsafe conditions, just to meet the allowed window. The goal should be to provide flexibility so that rest occurs at the moment of fatigue, and driving occurs at a safe time.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has requested feedback to identify rules that can be simplified or removed while maintaining road safety. This is part of Trump's plan to reduce regulations, including an order to eliminate 10 existing regulations before introducing each new one.
