The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has asked the public to help identify regulations that can be repealed or amended to reduce the burden on the transportation industry.

The corresponding notification has been published ( https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-05557.pdf ) in the Federal Register on April 3. The move is part of the Donald Trump administration's efforts to reduce regulation and control costs. DOT calls for comments and information to help identify existing rules, guidelines, and paperwork requirements that can be optimized.

Special attention is paid to provisions that may be considered unconstitutional, based on illegal delegation of authority or detrimental to national interests. The Agency is also interested in identifying rules that impose significant costs on the private sector without commensurate public benefit.

Comments are accepted until May 5 via the website https://Regulations.gov  with the case number DOT-OST-2025-0026.

In addition, the DOT accepts offers by e-mail to Transportation.RegulatoryInfo@dot.gov .
